Weekly Analysis:
In the world market: The global market remains in recessionary conditions. The price of 61% iron ore has fallen below $90/tonne, while Brent crude has exceeded $115/barrel. As a result, Brazilian iron ore FOB prices have declined due to rising freight costs. Billet remains in a slump, and other products are also facing weak demand.
The closure of the Strait of Hormuz has heightened caution in global markets, while fears of war and recession have sharply increased freight costs. Consequently, despite weak demand and recessionary conditions, prices have not declined because of mounting cost pressures. This trend is expected to continue until the dispute between Iran and the United States is resolved.

In the domestic market
: Developments in the domestic market reflect the same global pressures, albeit in a different form. Export difficulties have constrained demand, while infrastructure problems have reduced supply. Meanwhile, production costs have risen. The combined effect is limited production alongside escalating costs.
Iranian export billet prices have been quoted by sellers at a minimum of $420/tonne FOB, while rebar has been quoted at $415/tonne FOB. However, the number of buyers remains limited. Meanwhile, the Iraqi market is experiencing falling prices, and the Turkish market remains sluggish.
Even without a blockade, demand would remain limited. Weak exports and the continuation of current conditions could eventually bring the market to a standstill. Developments in the banking sector will need to be closely monitored in the coming months.
