Khorasan Steel complex will inaugurate its second HBI production line in near future.
As reported by Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), Latyef Dashtbozorgi, president of Khorasan Steel Complex announced that next month trial production will start. Dashtbozorgi said that after this line start production, Khorasan Steel HBI production capacity would be doubled to 1.6 m tones per year. Afterward the mill would have excess capacity.
It should be noted that Khorasan Steel started first phase of producing HBI in January 2010 and about USD120 m has been invested for the project.
