U.S. scrap export prices rise slowly

Since the beginning of this year, the U.S. scrap export prices rose slowly.

At present, the scrap export price in the U.S. port hit about FOB US$230/ton, among which, the price of the HMSI/II (80:20) scrap exported to China reached CFR US$275-285/ton, while to Vietnam, it reached CFR US$285-295/ton.

The growth in scrap prices was mainly because Turkish market has started to rebuild stocks and Asian scrap demand rebounded.

Since a slight rise in early January, at present, the U.S. domestic scrap prices remain stable. Source:Yieh.com
