According to the recent data released by World Steel
Association (WSA) total crude steel production of 66 steel manufacturing
countries moved down by 9% to 137.27 MnT in Feb’19 as compared to 150.33 in
Jan’19.
Meanwhile on yearly premise world steel output inched
up by 4% in Feb’19 in comparison to 131.91 MnT in Feb’18.
However in first two months of (Jan-Feb) CY’19 world
steel output stands at 287.60 MnT, registering an increase of 4% against 277.19
MnT in similar time frame of previous year.

China’s crude steel output down by 10% M-o-M in
Feb’19- China
crude steel output down by 10% to 70.98 MnT in Feb’19 against 78.59 MnT in
Jan’19.
However on yearly premises the same registered an
increase by 9% in Feb’19 in comparison to 65.02 MnT in Feb’18.
In first two months (Jan-Feb) of CY’19 nation’s crude
steel output rose by 9% to 149.58 MnT which was 137 MnT in Jan-Feb’18.
India's crude steel output fell by 5% M-o-M in Feb’19- As
per WSA (World Steel Association) India’s crude steel output fell by 5% to 8.73
MnT in Feb’19 against 9.18 MnT in the preceding month.
However on yearly basis the same inch up by 2% in
Feb’19 against 8.54 MnT in Feb’18.
In first two months (Jan-Feb) of CY19 nation’s crude
steel output remained stable at 17.92 against 17.89 in Jan-Feb’18.
Japan’s crude steel output down by 5% M-o-M in Feb’19- Japan
crude steel output inched down by 5% to 7.74 MnT in Feb’19 as compared to 8.14
MnT in the previous month.
However on yearly basis the same declined by 7% in
Feb’19 in comparison to 8.29 MnT in Feb’18.
In first two months (Jan-Feb) of CY’19 nation’s crude
steel output moved down 8% to 15.88 MnT which was 17.32 MnT in similar time
frame of previous year.
United States crude steel output declined by 8% M-o-M
in Feb’19- USA
crude steel output stood at 6.89 MnT in Feb’19, down by 8% against 7.51 MnT in
previous month.
On yearly basis the same registered an increase of 5%
in Feb’19 as compared to 6.59 MnT in Feb’18.
In first two months (Jan-Feb) of CY’19 nation’s crude
steel output stood at 14.41 MnT, higher by 7% against 13.48 MnT in Jan-Feb’18.
Crude steel production of other top steel producing
countries in Feb’19 is as follows Russia: 5.23 MnT, South Korea: 5.47 MnT,
Germany at 3.12 MnT, Turkey 2.63 MnT and Brazil: 2.66 MnT.
