Iran steel market Trend in Week 37th , 2018

Billet

Billet price was downward during last week in Iran. Average price of sizes 125 & 150 mm dropped from USD 953/mt to USD 905 /mt ex-work including 9% VAT. Long products market quiet situation made billet market weaker. DRI price was around USD 381 /mt and Scrap was USD 595-643 /mt.

Long products were downward as Debar size 8-32 mm dropped from USD 1149.5 /mt to USD 1116 /mt ex-work including 9% VAT.  I-beam market didn’t have a clear direction especially for size 14. Market is confused and quiet, everybody prefer stay out.

 

Flat products

Imported HRC 2 mm thickness dropped from USD 1405 /mt on truck in Anzali including 9% VAT to USD 1333/mt by end of the week. Domestic suppliers have taken import market share and their average price was around USD 1238 /mt ex-work including 9% VAT. For thicknesses 3-15 mm, supply level was limited but market confused sentiment made prices downward as declined from USD 1001 /mt to USD 925 /mt ex-work including 9% VAT. By middle of the week nobody was seller and supply was stopped. Oxin co HRP thickness 10-40 mm decreased from USD 995/mt to USD 957/mt ex-work including 9% VAT. Generally, transactions level is decreasing in flat products market as bids from construction projects is declining.

CRC price decreased marginally from USD 1556 /mt to USD 1542 /mt. Mills are in annual maintenance and lack of demand has made prices down.

HDG supply level was low and average price for thicknesses 0.40-2.5 mm of domestic mills dropped from USD 1774 /mt to USD 1710 /mt ex-work including 9% VAT.
