Billet
Billet price was upward during last week in Iran. Average price of sizes
125 & 150 mm started the week at USD 856 /mt ex-work including 9% VAT on
last Saturday. By Tuesday it rose to USD 1028 /mt and by end of the week
corrected a little to USD 986 /mt ex-work including 9% VAT. The reason behind price
fluctuations was just political sentiment not supply- demand issue.

Average price of
debar diameter 8-32 mm rose from USD 1000 /mt to USD 1222 /mt and declined by
end of the week to USD 1186 /mt ex-work including 9% VAT. I-beam was not offered
during last week. Market participants were just worried and cautious. The price
gap between billet and debar is by average USD 181 /mt at the moment. Besides,
debar warehouses are full of stocks. Everybody was waiting for a clear
direction in ex-rate.
Flat
products
Imported HRC 2 mm
thickness rose from USD 997 /mt to USD 1360/mt on truck in Anzali including 9%
VAT and custom duties. Limited supply due to lower import level made price
rise.
In domestic market ,
Ahwaz Rolling and pipe co products were transacted at around USD 1156-1224 /mt ex-work including 9% VAT. Mobarakeh Steel co didn’t offer much. Average
price of sizes 3-15 mm rose from USD 911 /mt to USD 1038/mt , but by Wednesday
lower price of some sizes made average price lower to USD 961 /mt ex-work
including 9% VAT. The same trend was seen for Oxin co HRP. Started the week at
USD 918 /mt, rose to USD 1107 /mt and finished the week at USD 1065 /mt ex-work
including 9% VAT. Generally, transactions level was limited. The sudden surge
in prices has made buyers cautious and worried.
CRC market was not much active but price for sizes 0.50-2.5 mm rose
form USD 1253 /mt to USD 1482 /mt ex-work including 9% VAT. Market insiders
believe lack of supply will rose CRC price to USD 1586 /mt.
HDG price followed CRC upward trend but supply level was limited and price
trend was not clear.
