Russian crude steel output up 33 percent in January – 24 Feb 10

In January this year, Russia produced 5.19 million mt of crude steel, registering a 33 percent increase year on year, but a 5.7 percent decrease compared to December 2009.

According to the data released by the Russian Federation's Federal State Statistics Service, in January the output of the country's main steel products was below the levels of December 2009 due to the shortened month caused by the winter holidays.
