MetalBiz quoted Mr Zhang Guobao director of National Energy Bureau as saying that 1000 units of small coal mines are expected to close nationwide in 2009 and the coal mines reduced to 15000 units.
Mr Zhang disclosed that the country enhanced the coal resource integration this year. The state will continue promoting the construction of large scaled coal base, examining seven coal mine projects with the total scale of 39 million tonnes and approving 20 coal mine projects to launch the preliminary works, with the scale of 38mln tons totally.
The coal mine enterprises should step up restructuring and merging, there into, Shanxi province proposed that till the end of 2010, the coal enterprises will cut from over 2000 to 100 in Shanxi, mines will curtail from 2600 to 1000 and the mines with the capacity of less than 300,000 tonnes should be discarded.
