ThyssenKrupp aims to raise steel price in middle August - 12 Jul 2009

ThyssenKrupp said on this Tuesday that the company hopes to push a larger price increasing for carbon steel products in middle August, which is mainly for the next quarterly steel contracts to be effective on October 1.

Actually, source said that the company has raised the price by an average of €25/ton in the beginning of this month.

Insiders said that the steel industry has bottomed out in price and demand and the market evidence show that steel booking in the past month improved significantly in Europe and United States markets. But the demand from the end user is still weak.

Before, some analyst said ThyssenKrupp will raise its steel price by €20~30/ton in the third quarter.
