EU starts investigation on monopoly suspected mills from Europe

News reported that EU is going to investigate on several European mills which may be involved in monopoly issues.

EU has already sent statement of objections to these suspected steelmakers. This is the first step for formal investigation and these mills would receive a fine counted for 10 percent of its annual turnover if they are proved to control market price usually.

It is noted that some steel giants such as ArcellorMittal and Rautaruukki Belgium both are in this black list. Expert tells that monopoly has being lasted for a long time widely in Europe and some steelmakers such as ArcellorMittal, which has paid huge amount of penalty to French Competition Council.
