Electric Steel manufacturer, Tokyo Steel Manufacturing Company, has said that it has increased the payment for locally marketed steel scrap by a uniformed price of JPY 1000 per ton for all grades at its four manufacturing facilities. These are effective from 15 January 2009.

The new delivery prices have now become JPY 21000 per ton for 2 HMS seaborne and overland arrivals, JPY 21000 per ton for seaborne and overland arrival at Kyushu facility, JPY 20000 per ton for seaborne and overland arrival at Takamatsu works, and JPY 21000 per ton for over land arrival at Utsunomiya facility.
