Italian domestic long product distributors are getting to postpone the contracts with mills, and try to defer the payment.
According to the import statistics from government, the flat product’s import volume in December, 2008 was 39 percent higher than in November, but 55 percent lower than in October. Moreover, the import volume in December of hot-dip galvanized was 36 and 70 percent lower than both in October and November.
As for coated steel’s import volume in December was 12,000 tons, which was 43 percent lower than monthly average value of 2007. Source: Yieh.com
