Market participants said that Turkey imported around 10 million tons scrap annually, namely importing 900,000 tons monthly.

With such a great demand, Turkey has the power to affect the scrap price on the international market. Currently, Europe and U.S. are the two main suppliers of scrap to Turkey.

Sometimes, Turkey functioned as a propeller of scrap transaction price and volume. In Asia, only China can also play the same role because of the huge demand for scrap as well.
