According to the related statistics, Korea has imported 391,000 tonnes of scrap in November 2008, down by 40.9% YoY as compared to the same month of 2007.

During the January to November 2008 period, Korea"s scrap imports totaled 117 million tonnes, up by 12.6% YoY as compared with the same period of 2007.

During the 11 months period, America was the biggest provider of scrap to Korea at 2.779 million tonnes, up by 48.5% YoY. Japan ranked the second at 2.304 million tonnes, down by 27% YoY. Russia ranked the third at 1.158 million tonnes, up by 45.9% YoY.
