According to the Public Relations of the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization, Iranian steel production capacity will reach from 15.8 million tonnes in 1388 to 35.455 million tonnes by the end of the 5th Development Plan ie 1393 Iranian year.

It outlined following plans for steel production capacity

1. Mobarakeh and Saba will hit 8.8 million tonnes
2. Khuzestan Steel will reach to 5 million tonnes
3. Steel National Company will hit 4.1 million tonnes
4. Hormozgan Steel is also aiming at 1.6 million tonnes

Capacity of steel provincial plans is due to sum 6.4 million tonnes.
1. Kaveh South Steel will reach to 1.2 million tonnes
2. Shargh Steel will hit 800,000 tonnes
3. Arfa Steel will reach 800,000 tons
4. Zarand Kerman will reach 1.7 million tonnes
