According to statistics from China Iron and Steel Association, the whole steel industry has cut 30% outputs on average.

On the basis of Junes production peak, the national steel output is expected to achieve 570 million tonnes in 2008, but in October with the production reduction the figure is likely to fall to 500 million tonnes, keeping close to 489 million tonnes of last years level and there is possibilities for the figure to drop more.
