It’s reported that Saudi Steel Pipe Co., the main welded pipe maker in Saudi Arabia, is planning to commission a new steel pipe plant by year 2012, mainly producing large diameter pipes with annual output around 200,000 tons.

Riyad Alo-Rabeea, the General Manager of the company, indicated on Tuesday that Saudi Arabia’s demand for steel pipes will exceed 1.7 million tons per year on increasing demand coming from giant petroleum project and Hydraulic and electric power network expansion.

Except for domestic market, they would also focus on exporting to overseas market, such as Middle East and North Africa area.
