Japanese Tokyo Steel has decided to increase scrap purchasing price again by ￥1,000/ton on June 19.

The price hike totaled ￥3,000/ton in this month. The new purchasing price of scrap is around ￥24,500~25,500/ton, and the export price to Taiwan is around C&F US$295~300/ton.

Currently China’s mills are willing to import the scrap at high price; the price is around C&F US$315/ton from Japan.
