South Korean import rebar and billet continue to rise

It is reported that prices for import rebar and billet continues to rise in South Korea despite falling demand in the country.
Japanese rebar is offered to South Korea at USD 545 to USD 555 per tonne CNF, by USD 15 per tonne up from mid May. Prices for Chinese and Taiwanese rebar have grown by USD 5 to USD 10 per tonne to USD 500 to USD 505 per tonne and USD 490 to USD 500 per tonne CNF respectively over the same period.

Japanese billet is quoted to South Korean buyers at USD 465 to USD 475 per tonne CNF, against USD 450 to USD 460 per tonne CNF, two weeks ago. Prices for Taiwanese square billet have generally risen to the upper end of mid May price range.
