It is reported that America exported 2.061 million tonnes of scrap in March 2009 up by 25.3% YoY

Among them, America exported 1.175 million tons to China, accounted for 57% in total up by 7.1 times than the same time of last year. Shipments to Korea totaled 158,000 tons and 120,000 tons to Turkey.

American scrap exports totaled 4.997 million tons from January to March, up by 10.6 percent than the same time of last year. It is estimated that export quantity will hit 19.99 million tons in 2009.
