In March, Ukraine mills set an extremely low price of US$330-340/ton C&F to South East Asian buyers for sales of billet, for May shipment. But recently, sellers have made excuses to delay shipment and tend to fail in fulfilling these orders.
This has led to buyers turn to Taiwan mills for urgent request of materials with the selling price of around US$460/ton. The amount will total 80,000-100,000 tons of billet.
Meantime, the same situation has occurred in relation to Ukraine’s HR material, which has been offered at US$340-360/ton C&F. Just before delivery time, Ukraine’s mills have refused to deliver orders at this price. Source: Yieh.com
