Market sources said that the export activities of scrap in Ukraine declined by 7.4% settling at 637,283 times during 2008 as compared to 2007 levels. The biggest importers of Ukrainian scrap what Turkey, Egypt and Moldovan.

Turkey imported a total of 404,581 tons which is 63.49% exported by Ukraine. Egypt imported 178,745 tons whereas Moldovan imported a total of 40,564 tons. On the whole, Turkey, Egypt and Moldovan imported approximately 98% of the scrap exported by Ukraine.
