The ex mine price of 5,500 calorie thermal coal has dropped to CNY 430 per tonnes from the previous CNY 530 per tonnes. And that of thermal lumps also declined sharply. The ex mine price of 6,000 calorie 38 lumps stumbled from CNY 600 per tonnes to current CNY 450 per tonnes. The price drop in thermal coal price has proved beyond people"s prediction.

According to statistics of Qinhuangdao port, the price of high quality mixed coal of 5,500 calorie also declined by a large extent last week, when Qinhuangdao port"s coal stock hit 9.17 million tonnes, the highest level in history. In that time, the exit price stayed at CNY 710 per tonnes, but still higher than last year"s CNY 508 per tonnes in the same period. It is predicted that there"s still room for thermal coal price to drop further.
