ArcelorMittal, the world''s biggest steelmaker, announced on April 8 to shut down another 3 blast furnaces in France, Belgium and Germany, thus totally cut production by 50 million tons to overall 45 percent worldwide.
ArcelorMittal continues its production-cut plan ever since last November to against global economic crisis. By now, only 11 out 25 blast furnaces are still in operation, while the capacity utilization drops under 50 percent. Source: Yieh.com
